Our in-person hand-building pottery classes teach you to create ceramic projects without a pottery wheel. If you can roll out a slab of clay, you can make beautiful, functional pottery projects like vases, mugs, planters, and items for the garden.
This is a fun introduction to clay, with lots of creative opportunities. We’ll provide templates, tools, textures, and inspiration. Participants can choose the design for the walls of the luminaire, which can be a simple pattern of holes and/or include other symbols cut out with a carving knife.
Participants are responsible for clean-up at the end of class.
Participants must be 13 years of age or older.
Once the project is completed, it will dry for several days. Then the item will be bisque-fired. Next, the item will be glazed and put back into the kiln for a final firing to over 2200° F. Your project will be ready within 3 to 4 weeks.
Registration and payment is required prior to workshop date.
